Biography
I am a "KARJALAN TYTTÖLÖI," as my grandmother would have said. I was born at the foot of the war in Vyborg and from there we ended up in Varkaus as an evacuation. There I spent my childhood and adolescence. Studying at Vierumäki Sports College (sports counselor) and Heinola Seminary (elementary school teacher) then took me to the world. Pekka, a teacher, was found in Hamina as a life partner. We moved to Lappeenranta after work and our family, the boys now in the world, have lived here for 40 years.
Exercise in its many forms has always been a part of my life, but I started painting in 1977 with a beginner's course in oil painting. After starting my studies in civic college courses, my hobby got a clear purposefulness. The picture also included new techniques, watercolor, and pastel. Summer courses in Finland, as well as abroad were annual events for years. Studying continues, also at the Citizens' College.
I dared to hold my first own exhibition in 2002 and since then there have been more than a dozen exhibitions across Finland. Joint exhibitions I have also been involved in for many years. I love painting and I hope to get pleasure in the viewer with my pictures, even so, that one of my paintings could find a new home!
